Line  Under  Construction

The HMR's premier locomotive is a Roundhouse Vale of Rheidol named Llewelyn. These are fantastic locos and sport a wealth of detail. As the banner says, the HMR is currently still being built, but this little corner is just about finished. It actually shows three levels of lines. The 'Y' shape at the bottom of the photo is two sides of a triangle junction and close to the top another line can just be made out. On the extreme right is a pillar to support a viaduct carrying a middle level line!
Another view of the disorganised chaos. Here, the three levels can clearly be seen, as can three sides of the triangle junction on the left. It has be described as 'spectacular' on more than one occasion and yet there's a long way to go before it's finished!!! Here can be seen the method of construction for most of the line. Concrete fence posts are 'planted' in the ground and trimmed to the right height. Next, concrete is poured into shuttering between the posts. This is then topped off with a ½" scree of rubberised concrete to which the track will be pinned.
